About the Role as Industrial Software Sales Executive
Emerson is expanding the European Systems & Software Solutions (SYSS) team. Since this role is new, you will have significant opportunities to shape and develop it according to your capabilities. The focus will be on packaging and offering Emerson's customers a broader range of services within Software and OT (Operational Technology). The goal is to develop and implement the regional business strategy for Emerson’s industrial software portfolio, managing a portfolio of around ten software products and services.

You will be responsible for the budget for the Nordic region, focusing on growing and developing the business in terms of license sales, subscription, and service orders. You will be supported by both your local sales team and the operations team, which ensures secure delivery and high service and support capacity. You will report to the department’s Sales Director and collaborate with other sales colleagues to develop the joint offering while acting as an internal evangelist for your products and services. Additionally, you will have access to Emerson’s extensive European network for product and system expertise.

Initially, the focus will be on growing business with existing customers, while also identifying new key prospects over time. The SYSS business unit is a high priority for Emerson, with ambitious goals for the coming years, providing you with strong resources and opportunities to develop into a national and international leadership role within the business area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the regional business strategy for Emerson’s industrial software portfolio.
  • Own the Nordic region’s budget, ensuring regular follow-up on thesales strategy.
  • Responsible for license, subscription, and service order sales for industrial software in the Nordics.

We are looking for a candidate with a technical post-secondary education, preferably in computer science, engineering disciplines, or business-related fields. Alternatively, you may have equivalent professional experience. You have at least five years of experience in software sales or business development, with a background in enterprise customer engagement. You are comfortable engaging with C-level executives and have a deep understanding of customer decision-making processes, leveraging your strong communication skills to influence key stakeholders. Additionally, you are fluent in English (spoken and written) and hold a valid driver’s license.

To succeed in this role, you should have a high level of commitment and accountability and thrive in an environment with independence and responsibility. You are used to planning and structuring your own work, travel, and project coordination, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. You value strong relationships and know how to leverage your internal network to ensure high-quality customer deliveries. A keen interest in technology and systems is also essential to understanding both the solutions and the customers' needs.

Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or business-related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Several years of experience in software sales and business development within IT and/or OT for enterprise customers.
  • Proven ability to engage and collaborate with C-level executives in solution sales.
  • Experience working with or selling to the process industry and its suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of customer decision-making processes and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable managing long sales cycles.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) and holds a driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience working in or selling to the process industry and its suppliers.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
